Projections are used by GIS professionals in order to interpret the world in different ways. These projections have different uses. The Wagner V projection is the fifth projection created by Karlheinz Wagner in 1949. This projection is known for its low amount of distortion, so the countries are about the same size as they are in real life. The Polyconic Projection was created by Ferdinand Rudolph Hassler around 1825. This projection is a type of conic projection, where the Earth appears to have been mapped out onto a cone. This projection is not really used anymore, with other newer conic projections being used instead.
